Our Doctor
Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Max J. Meltzer’s path to veterinary medicine was anything but traditional. He earned his undergraduate degree in business from the University of Vermont and returned to Manhattan, where he explored a variety of odd jobs across the city.
His life took a pivotal turn when his beloved dog passed away unexpectedly. The experience of saying goodbye at the animal hospital was deeply moving and sparked a calling he could no longer ignore. Inspired to make a meaningful difference, he pursued a post-baccalaureate program to prepare for veterinary school, ultimately earning his DVM from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Today, Dr. Meltzer brings a thoughtful, compassionate approach to every patient he treats, guided by the personal experience that inspired his career.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, jet skiing, snowboarding, and playing any game that involves strategy—always up for a challenge both in and out of the clinic.
